Thumb & Finger Injury Values in South Carolina Workers’ Compensation
It’s easy to underestimate finger injuries until you realize how much you rely on your hands every day. South Carolina law sets the following values for total loss or impairment:
- Thumb: 65 weeks
- Index Finger: 40 weeks
- Middle Finger: 35 weeks
- Ring Finger: 25 weeks
- Little Finger: 20 weeks
If your impairment is partial, your compensation is reduced proportionally. For example, a 50% loss of use of your thumb would equal 32.5 weeks of benefits.
